Silent Meditation
Find peace and quiet in meditation at our Dublin Atma Yoga centre. Here is the basic procedure:
1. Use of a water fountain, relaxation music, and the burning of fragrant oils are recommended.
2. Sit comfortably in whatever way suits you, either cross-legged, on a chair, etc. Whatever your choice, the principal is that you should not be uncomfortable.
3. Assume a calm and upright posture with back straight and hands relaxed.
4. Close eyes, relax, let everything go and be conscious of who you are and where you are.
5. When you become calm and collected begin to slowly repeat the mantra 'Radhe Shyam' in your mind. Radhe is the supreme feminine principal, Shyam is the supreme masculine principal. Together, they compliment each other perfectly.
6. 5-15 minutes is the meditation time recommended for most people, but everyone can decide themselves as there are no hard and fast rules. 7. Pronounce Radhe Shyam like 'Rad'hey Shaum'. Shyam sounds like the Irish name Sean with a long vowel sound.
